Syracuse pulls off one of the biggest upsets in recent Elite 8 history - a 10 seed knocking off a 1 seed. We haven't seen anything like that since #11 VCU upset #1 Kansas to make it to the Final Four in 2011. (VCU then went on to lose to Butler in the semi-final game 70-62.)
Ten brackets are left to vie for the top three spots and four of those brackets have a shot of winning it all: George Brayer #3, Patrick Brayer, Bob Kane and Swinney.
Patrick Brayer has the greatest chance of winning with his bracket taking the top spot in four of the 8 possible scenarios. The tourney chair has two of the remaining four possibilities and George Brayer and Swinney each cover the last two possibilities.
There is a new report now called Tournament Scenarios. This shows the final finishing order of all eight possible outcomes remaining in the tournament. A tiebraker will decide the final finishing order in five of the eight scenarios. Please review the rules page on how the tiebreakers are implemented.
In addition to the four brackets mentioned above, the other brackets with a shot of finishing in the money are:
Robert Rubin Marco Steve Kapp 2INZANE Bill Fanning George Pugsley
as well as Noel getting his entry fee back.
Perfect picks through last night would have yielded you 213 points. Dogs have now won 17 of 58 games or 29.3% - still above average for a tournament.
